So, it's official... Eponine acknowledges that Boaz is a person to be trusted. The little stuffed Nemo is her FAVORITE toy. She is always bringing it to us to throw for her (she is fetch obsessed). It seems that she is excited to have a new person in the house to play with! Unfortunately, Boaz has not yet perfected his throwing skills. But, he can hold his head up for a surprisingly long time. Maybe Eponine needs to think of a game that incorporates that skill.

Sleep?

I think we have so many pictures of him sleeping because we so long for him to fall asleep sometimes. It's funny... "they" say newborns sleep 16-18 hours of the day. I say, newborns EAT 16-24 hours of the day. Maybe just Boazes eat that much. If you need empirical proof, then I have the evidence for you. What baby that sleeps 16-18 hours a day has time to gain almost a pound in a week? When he came home, he was 7lb 8oz. He was 8 lbs 12oz about a week and a half later, and we'll weigh him again tomorrow at my breastfeeding class. I'm hoping for 9 lbs, but we'll see.

Boaz got his first piece of mail! It's weird to see his name on something. The lady at the pediatrician's office told us that Boaz Million is a rock star name. I told her that we're hoping for a dancer. She laughed as though she thought I was joking.

                                             Ooooh, another sleeping picture. PRECIOUS!

And, here's a video of the bath he got today. This isn't the cutest he's ever looked. You'll hear me reference the bad angle. I just didn't want anyone to think he got weird-looking. Just an FYI.
We figured, since he pees all over himself every day, maybe he could use a bath. And I don't mean pee in his diaper, I mean pees ALL OVER! It's amazing. People keep saying, "Oh, just leave the old diaper on until you put on the new one." Bull CRAP! Maybe that works for the average baby, but not for my diabolical Boaz. He ALWAYS catches you during the transfer of old diaper to new one. Cheeky Monkey.

Boaz's first 11 days

Wow, we're parents. Holy crap! It seems like we're doing a good job. This picture was taken after I fed him one day, and I actually caught a smile while he was sleeping. It's been so much fun getting to know this Boaz of ours. We can't really complain.

He only cries when he needs something, and even then it's more like a series of whimpers than an all out "I'm gonna die if you don't tend to me!" And, once you figure it out, he's good to go. We're thankful for a pretty smooth first week and a half.

The only problem so far has been breastfeeding. You'd think a labor and delivery nurse who not only went to nursing school, but also has read two big fat breastfeeding books, and has a mother in law who was in la leche league for many years wouldn't have much of a problem. But, you never know. I finally went to a class held by lactation consultants at Grossmont Hospital and got lots of needed support and education. I love free classes!

This is a picture of Aunt Kelly meeting Boaz for the first time. It was quite precious. She's been hanging out all week, getting us dinners, holding Boaz while I take a shower, going to the grocery store for us, and just spending much needed quality family time. It's sad she's gotta go back to Arizona. Not only because we'll miss the hell outta her, but we're gonna have to do everything ourselves. That's no way to live.

Here's a video we made while waiting to see the pediatrician on Boaz's fifth day of life. While waiting for Dr Manuel, we read the little "Yay you made a baby, now don't mess this up" packet. For newborns, it suggested practicing tracking objects with the baby. So, here's a video of our exceptional child. It's also just an excuse to see him in real time b/c he's super cute.

And this last picture on the right I included b/c I think Bo looks exactly like Jordan did as a baby. He looks so happy and has Jordan's cheeks. So far, the only genes I seem to have passed to him is a serious tendancy to sneeze frequently. Your welcome, Boaz.

Sorry this took a while to update, but we have been a little busy with our newest addition to the household.  Baby Boaz Robert Million was born Sunday, March 8th @ 3:28pm.  He was 8lbs. 4oz, 20 1/4", had light brown hair and dark blue/gray eyes.  Michelle was exctatic that she only had to push for 21 minutes with quite an audience.  Those in attendence were Michelle, Jordan, Boaz, Grandma and Grandpa Golden, Grandma Million, Aunt Angi, Aunt Jessi via Skype and Aunt Kelly via telephone.  We had 2 video cameras as well as 3 digital cameras capturing all kinds of different angles.

We go to come home 2 days later and have been having a blast trying to keep Boaz happy.  Like his father, the only thing that keeps him happy is Michelle's boobs.  The dogs have done surprising well and have almost shown motherly qualities towards Boaz (except one time when Eponine barked at him because she sniffed him ever so gently, but was shocked by his static electric personality).

Last day of doing whatever we want

For our last day and night as a childless couple, we decided to play Bocce Ball. Jordan beat the crap outta me (at Bocce Ball), but then again I'm busy making a human.

And, as if it wasn't enought that he beat me, he had to show off that he can juggle. Damn! I should procreate with this man... done.

So, here it is. Say bye to the Belly. I'm gonna miss the movements, the look of "no love handles," and having extra curves that attract the men-folk. But, say hello to OUR SON!! See you soon, Boaz.
